Thinking green

Conscious of our environmental impact, sustainability is a priority in PAC decision making.
Working with teachers and the school, we encourage students to be environmentally conscious around the school and at home.
If you have any suggestions for green initiatives, please submit them via email.

Waste-free lunches

Reduce, reuse, and recycle
The Waste-free Lunch Challenge is a Recycling BC initiative and connects directly to the curriculum.

Scary and true
Each student produces an average of 30kg (or 66lbs) of waste each year. With around 450 students, Capilano therefore creates around 13 tonnes of garbage each year.

Accept the challenge
Pack lunches with reusable containers, cutlery, and cloth napkins. Avoid plastic bags, prepackaged foods, juice boxes, paper napkins and plastic utensils.
